National Awakening Day is not only a time to remember the birth of Indonesia’s national spirit, but also a moment to reflect on our shared responsibility to guide and prepare the younger generation for the future. The theme “Jaga Tunas Bangsa Demi Kedaulatan Negara” reminds us that a strong and sovereign nation begins with young people who are educated, responsible, and grounded in moral values.
For UPA Bahasa UIN Madura, the spirit of awakening is closely connected to language, literacy, and local wisdom. Language is more than just a means of communication; it opens access to knowledge, connects cultures, builds confidence, and encourages students to engage with the wider world while staying connected to their identity and values.
The philosophy of Taneyan Lanjhang reflects the core values of Madurese society: togetherness, respect, rootedness, and sustainability. These values remain relevant in today’s educational landscape, where young people should grow not as individuals detached from their culture, but as learners who understand their roots while being ready to face national and global challenges.
Commemorating National Awakening Day also reminds us to renew our commitment to nurturing a generation that is intellectually capable, morally grounded, linguistically competent, and ready to make meaningful contributions to Indonesia’s future.
From Madura, UPA Bahasa UIN Madura joins the nation in strengthening the spirit of awakening through language, literacy, and education.
